But I think sometimes people do brash things because of stress, anxiety, immaturity, insecurity, peer pressure, etc, rather than pride. imho.

I pray for humility and gentleness -- trying to overcome my Irish-German pride and brashness, :-[ I don't know how to overcome my stupidity though, except to step back and ask God to take over.
