Title: Quote for the Day: Consolation Post by: Shin on May 04, 2011, 09:21:50 AM 'There can be no consolation for me but to see the reign of the Heart of my adorable Saviour. Whenever this devotion makes some progress, He always favors me with some unusual suffering.'
St. Margaret Mary Alacoque Title: Re: Quote for the Day: Consolation Post by: Patricia on May 04, 2011, 09:29:06 AM I found a Catholic store nearby and went there to buy a gift for my children's Godparents. I bought a statue of St. Joseph carrying Child Jesus for them. It was the best gift because by a coincidence my kids' Godfather loves Saints and collecting Saints pictures and statues. While I was there I asked the lady if she had a picture of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, because I was looking for one and just couldn't find one good enough. She said she would look in the back of the store and came back with one that I loved so much. I'll try and post a picture here. He looks so beautiful and His hands are pierced and I can't stop looking at His Face. :cherubim:

Both the picture and the store! :D It's not everyday you can find either! ;D Title: Re: Quote for the Day: Consolation Post by: Patricia on May 04, 2011, 09:43:08 AM Its a good store, but one thing I noticed and pointed it out to my son was that they have placed all Saints, Our Lady statues, books etc toward the back corner of the store while the crucifixes, psalm , bible verse pics were toward the front. This I think was to avoid scaring off potential Protestant customers. :D
Funny thing happened while we were there. My son saw something that looked like a holy water font and put his finger in it to bless himself. Turned out to be hot wax. Ha ha. Ouch! He came to me with hardened wax on his finger . ;D Title: Re: Quote for the Day: Consolation Post by: Shin on May 04, 2011, 09:50:23 AM Its a good store, but one thing I noticed and pointed it out to my son was that they have placed all Saints, Our Lady statues, books etc toward the back corner of the store while the crucifixes, psalm , bible verse pics were toward the front. I do too much shopping online. |
