Title: Quote for the Day: Hope
Post by: Shin on October 25, 2011, 07:41:30 AM
'We must not live as if there were no difference between right and wrong, but, to the best of our power, must purify ourselves from indulgence and lust and take care for our soul which must continually be devoted to the Deity alone. For when it is pure and set free from all evil the mind is somehow capable of receiving the power of God and the divine image is set up in it. "And everyone who has this hope in the Lord purifies himself," says the Scripture, "even as he is pure."'

St. Clement of Alexandria

We must not give up hope of purity of heart! But have a real solid hope, and work practically to achieve it!  ;D To love God alone, and see all things in the Lord, and be averse to all else!

From the prayer Hail, Holy Queen:
Hail, holy Queen, Mother of mercy, hail our life, our sweetness and our hope.

'Notwithstanding my weakness, I am no longer afraid; I have placed my confidence in God Who can do all things, and from Whom I hope all things, for I rely not on myself.'
