Title: request for myself
Post by: ChristianCatholic on January 03, 2012, 10:49:21 PM
I have struggled with a particular mortal sin for many years now. It has become an addiction and is destroying my spiritual life. Please pray that I will not fall into this sin again. Every few weeks or months I fall into a state of mortal sin as I am right now.

I will pray for you ChristianCatholic!
Please remember also to avoid, to the best of your ability, the occasions of sin, i.e. any person, place or thing that may be contributing to the temptations to sin.
Remember too the saying:
" If at first you don't succeed, try, try, again!".
You will beat this thing.
God Bless!
Saint Jude,
Pray for us!

Remember, O most loving Virgin Mary,
that never was it known,
that anyone who fled to your protection,
implored your help, or sought your intercession,
was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence,
though burdened by my sins,
I fly to you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother.
To you I come, before you I stand,
sinful and sorrowful.
O Mother of the Word Incarnate,
despise not my petitions, but in your mercy,
hear and answer me.
Amen.

O Jesus, Sweetest Love
from My Prayer-Book by Rev. F. X. Lasance

O Jesus, sweetest Love, come Thou to me;
Come down in all Thy beauty unto me;
Thou Who didst die for longing love of me;
And never, never more depart from me.

Free me, O beauteous God, from all but Thee;
Sever the chain that holds me back from Thee;
Call me. O tender Love, I cry to Thee;
Thou art my all! O bind me close to Thee.

Amen.

Prayers!

It takes giving up a lot more than we may want to often enough! Almost like taking a vow of poverty while living in this world! But if something like that's what it takes, that's what we have to make a firm resolution to do! And there are so many interior spiritual rewards to it too!

And in that poverty if we make very frequent Spiritual Communions we can fill the empty space with grace and strength to keep it!  :D

Please resolve to say the 5 decade Rosary everyday. Only Our Lady can give you the graces to resist mortal sin.
I will remember your intention during mine.  :crucifix:

ChristianCatholic I too will pray for you.
As Patrica has said, the daily rosary is powerful against all vice.

Look what St. Louis de Montfort has said regarding this prayer.

“Never will anyone who says his Rosary every day be led astray. This is a statement that I would gladly sign with my blood.”
Saint Louis de Montfort

“Even if you are on the brink of damnation, even if you have one foot in hell, even if you have sold your soul to the devil as sorcerers do who practice black magic, and even if you are a heretic as obstinate as a devil, sooner or later you will be converted and will amend your life and will save your soul, if—and mark well what I say—if you say the Holy Rosary devoutly every day until death for the purpose of knowing the truth and obtaining contrition and pardon for your sins.”
Saint Louis de Montfort

Amen! Amen!
I too must seriously heed Saint Louis de Montfort!

Hail Mary, Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou amongst women,
And blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
Pray for us sinners,
Now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

Our Father,
who art in heaven
hallowed be Thy name
Thy kingdom come
Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven
Give us this day our daily bread
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us
and lead us not into temptation
but deliver us from evil.
Amen!

Hail Mary conceived without sin.
Pray for us who have recourse to thee.

Hail Mary conceived without sin.
Pray for us who have recourse to thee.

Hail Mary conceived without sin.
Pray for us who have recourse to thee.
