Title: Pneumonia and Cancer Post by: Speramus on August 30, 2012, 10:07:18 PM Please say a prayer for a good friend who is in the hospital with pneumonia and a high fever. She was already weak from a year and a half of battling cancer. Her fever is back up to where it was yesterday when she entered the hospital. On the phone a few minutes ago she sounded worn out and in distress.

Please ask our Lord to give her strength and healing in accordance with His holy Will. May she persevere in faith, and offer up her suffering. On Monday, I was hopeful that my friend might be able to leave the hospital in a day or two, but her doctor has never been able to bring her fever down for more than a few hours at a time. Now they are talking about medevacing her to the Mayo clinic. They will get test results back tomorrow which may finally tell them what is causing her pneumonia. After shrinking a little, the infection in her lungs has started to expand again.

Fluid that had been accumulating outside my friend's lungs has been reabsorbed by her body and her fever is down. God willing, it will stay down this time.

At two weeks post-discharge from the hospital, my friend appears to be safely past her crisis. Recovery will take months -- she sleeps a lot these days -- but her high temperature is gone, she is eating again, and she even taught a little last week.

Please pray that she will endure in the Faith until the end, and not suffer greatly, and die peacefully, and rise joyfully. :crucifix: Prayers for the daughter who is caring for her and all of her family would be appreciated, too.
