From some rough notes, posting. . .

11 Passions

St. Thomas Aquinas identifies 11 passions in human nature.

    1. love (amor)
    2. hatred (odium)
    3. desire (desiderium)
    4. aversion (aversio or fuga)
    5. joy (delectatio, gaudium, or laetitia)
    6. sorrow (tristitia)
    7. hope (spes)
    8. courage (audacia)
    9. despair (desperatio)
    10. fear (timor)
    11. anger (ira)

Before the Fall of Man: Intellect > Will > Passions.

Concupiscible

joy (gaudium)
sadness (tristitia)
love (amor)
hatred (odium)
desire (desiderium)
aversion (fuga)

Irascible

fear (timor)
hope (spes)
courage (audacia)
despair (desperatio)

Please note I have included the Latin here, to help one do searches on it in the Vulgate, or elsewhere.

Desiderium is Latin for desire.   
The meaning of Desiderium is an ardent desire or longing; especially,   
a feeling of loss or grief for something lost.
