Title: Recipes for Whey
Post by: Shin on May 23, 2014, 02:35:52 PM
Anyone know any good uses for leftover whey?

I made some mozzarella cheese and ricotta cheese and have quite a bit of leftover whey. I'm trying a bread recipe with it, but I've never been any good at breads that use yeast. Trying to think of other uses! :D

How about biscuits.

A definite possibility if they're no-knead.

I don't knead them very much. With butter on them they melt in my mouth.

What's the recipe?

Flour
baking powder
whey (instead of butter milk)
butter

Mix flour with baking power. Add whey and butter until the mix has the right consistency. If it is too watery add more whey. If it is too hard add more whey. Set oven at @325 degrees. roll out mix with a roller. Put in oven and cook until it is done, usually in about 20 minutes. many people like to wait until the biscuits are almost done and they spread melted butter on top.
This is what I do. Soon after they are done I cut open the biscuits and spread butter inside. They tend to melt in my mouth.
