He learned that his servants had robbed him while he was away. Honorius was slain by the servants. He was immediately venerated as a martyr. He was canonized in 1444. He was born to a noble family. His feast day is May 16th. He is the patron of bakers and bakers of altar bread. In 1659, King Louis IV of France ordered that every baker observe the feast of St. Honoratus, and give donations in honor of the saint and for the benefit of the community.
