Title: Remember three Hail Marys at morning and at night for the virtue of purity
Post by: Therese on April 09, 2016, 03:30:27 PM
PURITY

Freedom from anything that weakness or impairs or changes the nature of a being or its activity. Purity of faith means the absence of error what is contrary to the revealed truth; purity of intention is the exclusion of self-will in the desire to perform the will of God; purity of morals commonly refers to the virtue of chastity and therefore freedom from wrongdoing in sexual activity, but on a broader level it means the absence of misbehavior, especially in one's external or publicly recognizable conduct. (Etym. Latin puritas, clearness, cleanness, uprightness.

--Catholic Culture Dictionary

There exists purity of body and purity of soul.  The Fatima seer Jacinta did a good job at defining them and their difference.  I wish I could quote her but I am having difficulty finding her words on the subject.  The definition of purity found above most likely covers both definitions (purity of body and of soul) well enough.  Ask yourself if you are pure in body and in soul; and if you aren't, ask yourself if it is because you do not pray for purity or because you are proud.  You can not be pure if you do not pray for purity or if you are proud.  I recommend the "Three Hail Marys" every day, at morning and at night, in honor of the Immaculate Conception, for the virtue of purity, to any of you who may be struggling with purity and who are not yet praying the "Three Hail Marys."  If you are having difficulty with purity of body, then you must practice custody of the senses and be sure to pray your "Three Hail Marys," at morning and at night, in honor of the Immaculate Conception, for the virtue of purity.  The saints recommended the "Three Hail Marys" to their penitents and saw wonders worked by means of this practice.  Everybody should be praying the "Three Hail Marys."  Don't put it off if you haven't yet started with your "Three Hail Marys."  God bless you!

You should finish your "Three Hail Marys" with the following prayer:

By thy Immaculate Conception, O Mary, make my body pure and my spirit holy.
