Post by: CyrilSebastian on February 21, 2020, 10:02:14 PM
Guy of Anderlecht (ca. 950-1012) was born to poor parents.
He lived a simple agricultural life until he was fourteen.
At the age of fourteen, he became sacristan at the Sanctuary of Our Lady at Laken.

Some of Guy's sacristan duties included dressing the altars, taking care of the vestments
and altar linens, and ringing the bell for Mass and Vespers.

Guy shared his wages with the poor.
He travelled to Brussels. A merchant told Guy that he could earn more to give to the poor.

In Rome Guy met Wondulf, dean of the church of Anderlecht.
He agreed to guide the dean and his party on their pilgrimage to the Holy Land.
