Title: Believing in Jesus by Father Leonard Foley, OFM
Post by: eschator83 on December 10, 2021, 05:23:12 PM
I was given this book about the time I began RCIA, but found myself struggling with it, and decided I would start my serious reading with Mark's Gospel and the Acts of the Apostles.  Now I'm reading this again as I think about my Kerygma and how it compares with Fr Foley's and other people's.
It seems logical to me that the most effective evangelization must begin somewhere near the center of understanding of the candidate; with a group of candidates as at RCIA it's reasonable to expect that all are of basically unique backgrounds and experience, yet their common link is the expression of interest in learning about the Church, regardless of their experience or motivation.
I wonder if readers have found a favorite book to share with a person hoping to better understand Catholicism.  And if you might discuss some of the issues raised by Fr Foley.
