Post by: CyrilSebastian on May 25, 2022, 06:14:05 PM
If the Lord had not chosen David to be the King of Israel after King Saul and King Saul had remained as monarch, would Jonathan have become king after his father Saul?

Jonathan was the eldest son of King Saul.
Saul died at the Battle of Mount Giolboa.
Three of Saul's sons: Jonathan, Abinadab, and Malchishua died with Saul at Mount Gilboa.
Ish-bosheth, son of Saul, was proclaimed king of Israel after the slaying of his father and brothers
In the battle of Gilboa, Ish-bosheth reigned for two years.

After the demise of King Saul. the tribe of Judah seceded from the rule of the
House of Saul by proclaiming David as its king and war ensued.
