Title: Sleep Study Post by: eschator83 on April 27, 2023, 10:16:40 AM Last night I spent from 8pm to 6am in our local Sleep Study Center. It seemed to have 10-15 rooms, but I only saw two people who I was told were both medical techs. I was quickly wrapped up in so many wires I imagined how St Lazarus must have felt. My tech then went to another room, but we could talk through a speaker system and she said she could see me even though my room was very dark. I guess I lay awake about three hours of eight in total (she untangled me at 5am) and I don't think I've ever felt so alone or uncomfortable. The test is for various sleep disorders, sleep apnea and more, but now I must wait two weeks for results. I couldn't get any clue about results from the tech.
Next week I'm going to camp to try to forget everything. I pray you are sleeping well. Title: Re: Sleep Study Post by: Shin on April 27, 2023, 03:07:07 PM What an ordeal my friend you sure did well getting through all that.
Thank God it's over. I hope you get some good results back and if you have sleep apnea something helpful for it. :+: Title: Re: Sleep Study Post by: Shin on May 16, 2023, 09:20:13 PM Just thinking about this today. How are you managing eschator?
Title: Re: Sleep Study Post by: eschator83 on May 23, 2023, 08:55:56 AM Thanks for your follow-up, this is hard for me to think through. The Doctor said I have mild to moderate sleep apnea (avg 13 breathing stoppages per hour), supposedly short since they do not wake me up, but still potentially harmful. He recommends CPAP but needs more test to determine which version and whether CPAP could actually restrict my breathing and/or oxygen level. I'm reading what I can find, talking with friends who have considered CPAP, and doing some prayer.
