One of the things that always makes me happy is when I find saints who know saints. . That is, a saint who has a brother, a sister, a friend, a companion who is also a saint.. a mother, a father, a son, a grandson. . .

The saints are one golden chain of flowers, where one link is tied to the next, to the next. .

And they all love one another in the Lord, and are dear friends to one another.

It is especially pleasing and beneficial to pray for the saints' help on their Feast Days. .

And so too, in virtue of their great friendships, that touch their lives.

I have a link to the saints of the day which are given on the Patron Saints' Index, a wonderful resource.
This link will take you to the saints of the day, each day. And then, you can ask those saints to especially pray for you. And for saints that information has been provided for, you can click the name, and find out who they are the more, and who they knew. Often when you find one saint, you find another listed in the biography that this saint knew.. and so you can turn to this one.. and to the next.. and to the next..

And ask for their prayers.

I believe this will benefit you greatly, so take advantage of the love of God in the saints.  :D

I also wanted to point out that it is a good idea -in my humble opinion- to offer a prayer to a saint without asking for anything, but rather as a gift to be used by that saint for someone who requests help from him/her.  I sometimes have earned an indulgence -by confession, communion, Holy Hour of Adoration, Rosary- and offered it to a saint, rather than apply it to someone I know or a deceased, so that the saint can apply it to someone who needs it and requests from them.

I do not know whether saints can use our offerings for others, but cannot imagine why not!  Regardless, prayer and penance are never wasted.

Everyone probably already knows this one but . . .
Today is the Memorial of St. Scholastica who was the twin sister of St Benedict!
He founded the Benedictine Order and she founded the women's monastic
Benedictine order.  They are even buried together, they were so close. :angelblue:

St Terea of Avila was very close to St. John of the Cross
and St Monica was St Agustine's mommy!  :flower:

I love the story of St. Scholastica and St. Benedict's last meeting. It's so moving!

And St. John and St. Teresa working together..

And when you have a family of saints! It's just wonderful when you hear about that, because you imagine it all the more in your own life.. and what Heaven will be like!

That last meeting was a bit "stormy" as I recall! :rotfl:
I think viewing the Saints in context of a family life, etc. makes them somehow more real
and even more approachable. The Communion of Saints, we have a wonderful Church! :angelblue:

How about the Martin family (St. Therese, et al)?
