This has evidently come to pass.

Now we see why Stalin killed more people than Hitler.

The rest are either true or twisted.

What I like about these quotes is they demonstrate the source material for what is alive, well, and prolific today, but often simply not under its original name.

Yes, I have read that there are people today who will swear and die for the above. Probably Putin is one of them. Now it is different approach.  Believe in the same, but don't declare it openly and  wear a mask of humanity for the world to see.

Perhaps I'll share some Mao quotes later.

In the meantime an antidote!  :D

'No, Venerable Brethren, We must repeat with the utmost energy in these times of social and intellectual anarchy when everyone takes it upon himself to teach as a teacher and lawmaker - the City cannot be built otherwise than as God has built it; society cannot be setup unless the Church lays the foundations and supervises the work; no, civilization is not something yet to be found, nor is the New City to be built on hazy notions; it has been in existence and still is: it is Christian civilization, it is the Catholic City. It has only to be set up and restored continually against the unremitting attacks of insane dreamers, rebels and miscreants. Omnia instaurare in Christo.

Pope St. Pius X, 'Our Apostolic Mandate'

Amen to that! We need more Popes and priests with that attitude today. Say it as it is.

Well, if time isn't a continuum for Him but an ever-present now, then even now we can pray for him. Yes?

If he wasn't Catholic, didn't repent, was Godless till the end, doubtful he even made it to Purgatory.  I really don't know what his end was like, if there was a death-bed conversion,  so depending on that.

We don't know about any deathbed or unconscious (to us) conversion as St. Jean Vianney spoke about - but what I was talking about was that if it is possible for us to be present at the Crucifixion as we are at every Consecration than time (linear time) is not a factor for Him.

It's interesting, the idea of praying about things that are already said and done. I think I heard of -one- example way back about it, about praying for a Roman Emperor, but do not recall the details. While it appeals to our modern minds, I'm not too keen on it yet because I don't have sufficient precedent. I remember reading one priest talking about, this wasn't a traditional priest, and he was of the opinion we could pray for things in the past that we did not have a clear answer on, but that which we did, that was revealed as fact, God had decided on that, and so it could be wrong to pray about.

For my part, if I discovered sufficient precedent and some favoring of it by God through some saints that would be one thing, but nothing yet, so I don't engage in it.

I think that if it was a useful practice, then all we would have to do to fix a good deal would be to all pray for certain historical problems to go differently than they did.  :D

Well, I will sometimes pray about things in the past in the sense that, "I pray things went as well as they could've, et all."

So I guess I said too much!

I suppose I do engage in it lightly.. just not in the Time Machine fashion.  :D
