Title: Isaiah 45:5-6
Post by: Brigid on May 19, 2010, 04:49:57 PM
I am the Lord, and there is no other,
besides me there is no God;
I gird you, though you do not know
me,
that men may know, from the rising
of the sun
and from the west, that there is none besides me;
I am the Lord, and there is no other.
                           Isaiah 45:5-6

What power in those words!
I met the Lord today for about half an hour. We have Eucharistic adoration on Wednesdays.

I had to look up gird........ but to be surrounded and held in by the Lord; not to escape!  Belted in, as it were.  One is safe in His arms, no?

I like that definition.

Yet the Vatican Council has defined, "If anyone says that the one true God, our Creator and Lord, cannot be known with certainty by the natural light of human reason by means of the things that are made, let him be anathema"

Pope St. Pius X - Pascendi Dominici Gregis

All Creation sings the glory of the Lord!

It is only through darkness and sin that we blind ourselves to it!

Doesn't this speak of the great mercy and goodness of God.
Even those who do not believe in Him are still upheld by Him and He still grants them their very existance.
He causes the sun to shine on the good and evil alike.
