Title: Quote of the Day: The Providence of God and Personal Destiny! Post by: Shin on July 11, 2010, 05:49:53 PM 'I carry in my heart a great fear of spoiling things wherever I shall be, and this because of the words I think I heard in the depths of my soul: You are destined to please Me, not so much by success as by bearing failure.'
St. Rose Philippine Duchesne Title: Re: Quote of the Day: The Providence of God and Personal Destiny! Post by: Shin on July 11, 2010, 05:51:54 PM Can be a fearsome quote until you adjust!!

Post by: odhiambo on May 01, 2014, 08:28:06 AM 'It is one of the most firmly established and most consoling of the truths that have been revealed to us that, (apart from sin) nothing happens to us in life unless God wills it so. Wealth and poverty alike come from Him. If we fall ill, God is the cause of our illness; if we get well, our recovery is due to God. We owe our lives entirely to Him, and when death comes to put an end to life, His will be the hand that deals the blow.'
St. Claude de la Colombiere Title: Re: Quote of the Day: The Providence of God and Personal Destiny! Post by: Shin on May 01, 2014, 02:57:16 PM I love this quote!
It is such a consoling thing to know one's afflictions come from God. When you attribute them properly they become far easier to bear, because you know God's will for you is for the good. Folks do not realize until they have tried it how consoling it is. Title: Re: Quote of the Day: The Providence of God and Personal Destiny! Post by: odhiambo on May 01, 2014, 04:14:53 PM True!
There is a similar one by Saint Augustine. Do you recall it? Title: Re: Quote of the Day: The Providence of God and Personal Destiny! Post by: susanna on May 02, 2014, 07:38:02 PM I love this wonderful quote. Very different. Will have to read about her. Thanks Shin!
