Post by: ChristianCatholic on July 25, 2010, 03:07:18 AM
"Among adults there are few saved because of sins of the flesh. [...] With the exception of those who die in childhood, most men will be damned."

from the writings of St. Regimius of Rheims

It is a sad fact that most chose not to be saved.

Kyrie eleision! Christi eleison!

Let us pray that people everywhere learn the path towards chastity and mortification of the flesh!

"Avert the eyes lest ye behold vanity."

Let modesty of the eyes and dress and heart be their lives!

"In the realm of evil thoughts none induces to sin as much as do thoughts that concern the pleasure of the flesh."
St. Thomas Aquinas

"In temptations against chastity, the spiritual masters advise us, not so much to contend with the bad thought, as to turn the mind to some spiritual, or, at least, indifferent object. It is useful to combat other bad thoughts face to face, but not thoughts of impurity."
St. Alphonsus Liguori

'The spiritual masters point out many remedies for the vice of impurity; but the principal and the most necessary are the flight of occasions, and prayer. As to the first means, St. Philip Neri used to say that in this warfare cowards, that is, they that avoid dangerous occasions, gain the victory. Let a man use all other possible means, unless he flies away he is lost. He that loveth danger shall perish in it.'

St. Alphonsus Maria de Liguori

Indeed flight, under the circumstances, is the best option. Joseph put it to practice when he fled from Potiphar's wife, thereby avoiding sin.
