Title: Chief Commissioner of the Human Rights Commission steps down
Post by: martin on August 27, 2010, 06:03:09 PM
Precious Life's Petition to the Human Rights Commission

Precious Life has welcomed the news that the head of Northern Ireland's Human Rights Commission is to step down a year early. Monica McWilliams has announced she will leave next August rather than in 2012. She claimed it was not directly related to a decision by the Northern Ireland Office to impose funding cuts of 25% and to block funding from a US organisation - Atlantic Philanthropies.

Since the formation of the Human Rights Commission in 1999, Precious Life has been exposing their hidden agenda to legalise abortion in Northern Ireland under guise of ‘human rights’. Monica McWilliams was appointed Chief Commissioner in 2005. She was formerly the head of the Women's Coalition which supported the extension of the 1967 Abortion Act to Northern Ireland. We continually challenged her to state publicly if she would protect the rights of unborn children but she refused to do so.

In February of this year, Precious Life again exposed the hypocrisy of the Human Rights Commission when they presented their advice to the government on what rights should be in a Bill of Rights for Northern Ireland but did not include the right to life of unborn children.

In a statement to the media we said the Human Rights Commission had failed in its remit to ensure the human rights of all – including unborn children - were fully and firmly protected in law, policy and practice. Because of this, we said that Monica McWilliams was not worthy of the name of ‘Human Rights Chief’ and should resign.

We also exposed that the Commission were receiving funding from Atlantic Philanthropies, which had also given funds of £1.8million to the pro-abortion Family Planning Association (FPA) and Brook ‘Child-Sex’ Centre in Northern Ireland.

We welcome the decision to block funding to the Human Rights Commission while they refuse to acknowledge the rights of the unborn child. We also call on Monica McWilliams to resign immediately rather than wait until next August and allow a new Chief Commissioner to be appointed – and only one who will promise protect the human rights of everyone, born and unborn.

The Precious Life group in N.Ireland are only a few strong but they are relentless in exposing all the devious methods used in the political arena to introduce abortion through the back door without consulting the people.
So far they've blocked every attempt at this with powerful public information campaigns and managed to rally thousands onto the streets in protest and defeat the last attempt at changing the law to allow abortion.

This is another success story and we pray that a  pro life commissioner will take the place of Monica McWilliams.

Prayer is the essence of this group and they organise public rosary vigils through the cities.
May Our Lady of Guadalupe protect them and make their work ever more  successful  :+:

Deo gratias for such good work!

The enemy is everywhere, and full of deceit and fronts of apparent good will of all kinds.

Charity is not abortion! Philanthropy is not giving to contraceptive and feminist campaigners!
