Title: The Angels and Further..
Post by: Shin on September 29, 2010, 11:48:21 AM
One of the books on angels we have is Henri Marie Bouden - Devotion to the Nine Choirs of Holy Angels in Saints' Books. Why not read some of it today, or if you have a book at home on the angels, read a little of it there?

And greet your guardian angel(s) and thank your angel and all the angels for their care.

There are angels everywhere.. each person has at least one guardian.. some people have more because of their special circumstances..

There are angels that watch over particular places.. like churches.. towns.. entire nations..

Do not forget you have more friends than you know of.. friends the least of whom is more powerful than the greatest potentates on earth..

My Foley book says today is the Memorial of Guardian Angels, which was added to the Roman Calendar by Pope Paul V in 1615.  Dearest Angels, please pray for us.  Foley says primary impetus for Angelic devotion was from Ss Benedict and Bernard of Clairvaux, and our current devotion assumed its form (no detail cited) in Bernard's day.  Would anyone amplify that?

Numerous websites declare Saint Benedict gave it impetus and Saint Bernard of Clairvaux, the great 12th-century reformer, was such an eloquent spokesman for the guardian angels that angelic devotion assumed its current form in his day.
