Title: Quote for the Day: How Much Penance is Necessary for you to do?
Post by: Shin on October 19, 2010, 12:31:12 AM
'In doing penance it is necessary to deprive oneself of as many lawful pleasures as we had the misfortune to indulge in unlawful ones.'

Pope St. Gregory the Great

.. A part of the answer? :D

This seems like true justice and probably a good indicator of how truely repentant we are for our sins.

I'm definately not there yet but the fact that a pope (and a saint Pope at that) has said this means that it's something to be taken very seriously.

Again, the step by step approach could be the way. Starting with little acts of self sacrafice and building up encouraged by the good fruits that are bound to appear.
:bighanky: I'm sure there'll be little hidden joys in it all that will only be evident if/when we give it a chance.  :D
