St. Francis of Assisi This is something I haven't thought about very much - the connection between humility and charity/alms. Title: Re: Alms Post by: Shin on October 21, 2010, 11:21:11 AM I love how St. Francis makes clear how instead of keeping things in this world and so trying to keep treasure forever, the treasure forever we gain is by giving things up in this world.
What a contrast to, say, the ancient Egyptians who filled their tombs with everything they owned in their mortal lives as if to take these things with them. |
