I was thinking of the Hail Holy Queen prayer this morning-

Hail Holy Queen, Mother of mercy, our Life, our sweetness and our hope.....

It's all in how you say it.  ---
Hail holy queen, Mother of Mercy,
(mother of) our Life
(of) our Sweetness
and (of) our Hope.

What do you think?

Ever read things wrong?  Took me half my life to realize that in the Christmas carol Hark the Herald, that there was not some thing called a herald that someone harked.
That there were actually herald angels.   rejoice

Shin, could you delete my posts #5, and this last one?

I feel like I should be wearing a big scarlet U for ungrateful to Mary.

Makes me wonder how many are faithful, practicing.

There aren't many women religious where I live - suburbs USA.  A tragedy we lost our teachers.  The prayer practices they taught me as a child stayed with me all my life, even when I was away from the Church, thank God.   Thank God for the Dominican sisters now.

Somewhere around Indonesia (I think), there are many people who live into their 100s, and a large part of their diet is sweet potatoes.   I think it was Dr. Oz who mentioned this on his show, then for  months afterwards you couldn't find a sweet potato in the stores.   Cheesy

Whoever sits in solitude and is quiet has escaped from three wars:  hearing, speaking, and seeing.  Yet against one thing he must constantly battle: his own heart.
St. Antony Abbot

So it is with all holy men, they love to be not where sumptuous banquets are, but where holiness flourishes.
Thomas Aquinas

Only those who have known the silence and solitude of a hermit's cell can understand its blessings and joys.
St. Bruno

31  Forums / Catholic General Discussion / Re: Catholic hermits on: April 27, 2014, 06:17:44 PM
I've been reading about Catholic hermits, some of whom are officially consecrated under a bishop (Canon 603). Does anyone here know anything about them, or at least any good resources on the topic?

Also, I think I may have a vocation to this state of life, but how do I discern such a thing?

Sorry to be so vague, but I don't know enough at this point to formulate more detailed questions.
Are there hermits that aren't officially consecrated under a bishop?  Are there traditional Catholic hermits?   This always interests me too.   planter
