Hello. Isn't it sad. I don't know where to start. The lack of the sacred, the lack of understanding of the disposition you should have, lack of belief.
When I watch some people on EWTN kneel or genuflect at communion (it can be a struggle for old folks) it makes me sad - they want to kneel, but have been deprived of communion rails by the church itself.
I wonder if some posters on CAF are even Catholic sometimes. Some questions are strange.

Greetings everyone. I think I will try to give it up for Lent. You would think that after a bad dream I had about TV, that I would have given it up completely (demon on the screen looking out at viewers.) But I didn't. There isn't much there, but I am kind of hooked on the murder mystery news shows like Dateline. Should one give up EWTN also? Is it just as bad to be glued to the computer for hours? Not sure. Thanks. Glory to Jesus Christ.

The level of holiness which today seems extreme, was really the norm in times past
Martin, can I use this quote sometime? It's poetry!
Not that I'm holy, but you said what I've been thinking so often lately, like you're rowing against the tide. Not just liturgically here either. One Sunday I attended a Byzantine liturgy, my first, and then a Latin mass. I was thinking I could not even have told neighbors I went to Mass twice! They really would have thought it strange! Thanks.

If you all think of it, would you send up a little prayer for some health issues I'm having, and that I can get my high cholesterol down with diet instead of meds (too many eggs and not enough oatmeal!!) I really detest doctoring. Thank you so much. I value your prayers. I'm off to Mass now...

Hi Jacki. This was always my favorite from Cardinal Newman. I used to say it to help me endure a job I hated!!! some more I recall: ".. if I am in sorrow, my sorrow may serve Him. He does nothing in vain. He may take away my friends, hide my future from me, make me feel desolate, still He knows what He is about." (I've read different versions.)

Just wanted to thank you all for your good prayers. She is doing exceptionally well. She was in good shape to begin with, so that helped her the doctor said. Thanks again. I'm off to church now and will say one for you all.

Forums / Submissions / an Ascension mass prayer -

Hi everyone. I'm just sharing this prayer from (Latin) mass yesterday, which was sort of a new relevation for me - "...celebrating the most sacred day on which your only begotten Son our Lord placed at the right hand of your glory the frail nature of ours, which he had taken on Himself..." I had never thought of Christ at the right hand of God as also a man, as one of us. I had only ever thought of Him as God there. There's a self-esteem boost for ya. The Latin mass has wonderful prayers. I am so glad we have one daily now.

Hi Brigid. Yes, I guess so. But I think sometimes people do brash things because of stress, anxiety, immaturity, insecurity, peer pressure, etc, rather than pride. imho.
