No name for the soldier is given in the canonical Gospels.
The name Longinus is instead found in the apocryphal Gospel of Nicodemus.

Moderator's note here.

All people posting need to observer proper behavior, keep posts on topic, behave with Christian charity, and abide by basic Catholic teachings and not promote heretics, immoral authors who promote degeneracy, and other very basic rules of Catholic teaching that however disregarded in the world, apply here. This is for the good of the forum and all its readers.

Hello curious, my apologies, but I've had to remove the previous post because it was off the topic of the thread, that is 'St. Patrick'.

Be sure to keep replies on topic, and please spend some more time familiarizing yourself with the kinds of topics suitable to the discussion forums. While there is no specific policy here against AI content, at least as of yet, if you're using an AI, please do not use it or wikis for long summary or article like posts and please include a note that it is being used when it is.

Also for sources, saints and the holiest religious Catholic references from before 1958 are what are the standard here, with rare exceptions as necessary. I don't want you to waste your time making posts that will not be kept, so please take care.

Also this forum has a messaging system, be sure to check your messages if you have not yet.
