???I'm always wondering where the modern-day places are that have other names in scripture or lives of the saints stories (Samosata, Philempora).  Does anyone know if there is a resource I could use, like a map to show me the location?  Thanks much.

That's a good question, if only I had a good answer.  Cheesy I am constantly learning about the geography of the past, but just in happenstance largely, so I do not know a particular resource to recommend.

It is too bad I do not know much about homeschooling resources, I bet some of the traditional older ones have some marvelous materials in regards to such things.

Try Utah Susanna. I think a lot of the towns there have very biblical names (moab, zion canyon etc.) . If you google utah biblical names, you'll find a comprehensive list of all these towns. Hope that helps.

I usually turn to "wiki" which gives some idea of where the place was. The few I have checked turned out to be somewhere in Modern Turkey  Grin
