'Not only the heavens, but the sight of a blade of grass, or of the most insignificant thing, suffices to inflame with love of God the heart that knows Him.'

St. Ignatius of Loyola

I wanted to do a thread on this subject of how we find inspiration in insignificant things..

I'll start with an example..

For example numbers.. 1 . . . 2 . . . 3 . . . 4 . . .

And on, there can hardly be anything dryer than numbers. Yet there is a great abstract beauty to be found in mathematics and geometry that shows the work of God. . .

And for simpler inspiration we can remember meanings such as. . .

One God. . .

Two natures in Christ, God and Man. . .

Three. . . The Holy Trinity. . .

Four . . . The Four Last Things. . . The Four Evangelists. . .

And so on.

What do folks remember about numbers? How high can we count and find inspirational meanings? Cheesy

And what else come to mind that we might help each other with to find God everywhere and think on?

The more wounds on a crucifix the truer it is!

It's a pious tradition to have a special devotion to the five wounds. . .

I keep this devotion, Shin, daily. The Mystical City of God taught me how offensive man's forgetfulness and ingratitude regarding our Lord's Passion and our Lady's sufferings are to Them, so I have daily devotions pertaining to our Lord's Passion and our Lady's Dolors.  I highly recommend that all my SDF friends meditate daily on our Lord's Passion and have devotions to our Lord's Passion and to our Lady's Dolors.   Such meditations and devotions are what partly made the Saints' into the greatest saints.  It is good to pray 15 decades of the Rosary daily, meditating on our Lord's Passion every day.  May none of us SDF-ers be forgetful of and ungrateful for all that our Lord and our Lady have suffered for us.  May we recall every day what our salvation has cost Them and thank Them heartily, from the very bottom of our hearts, for it.
