Please pray for me. As I touched upon on another thread, I have been going through a spiritual struggle against temptation, sometimes unsuccessfully, and although things are getting better, I know I need to be vigilant.
Has anyone any good prayers to share to help in resisitng?
Many thanks,

I will think on them! ! !

Angel of God
Angele Dei

Angel of God,
my guardian dear,
to whom God's love commits me here,
ever this day be at my side,
to light and guard, to rule and guide.

Angele Dei,
qui custos es mei,
me, tibi commissum pietate superna,
illumina, custodi,
rege et guberna.

St. Michael the Archangel Prayer
Sancte Michael Archangele
by Pope Leo XIII

Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle: be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray: and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Sancte Michael Archangele, defende nos in proelio, contra nequitiam et insidias diaboli esto praesidium. Imperet illi Deus, supplices deprecamur: tuque, Princeps Militiae Coelestis, satanam aliosque spiritus malignos, qui ad perditionem animarum pervagantur in mundo, divina virtute, in infernum detrude.

In temptation it helps me to think about my last end. If I think about this day, I may be going to the next life to see God.. Then I think, well, temptation, how can I give in to that today? One has to be clean, and love God cleanly. And that clean, pure love of God is beautiful and peaceful and calm to rest in. There is nothing like a clean conscience. There is nothing like the milk white peace of Heaven. What could be worth trading that for? There are only regrets after any trade. And while the Heavenly route may be hard in the short run, in the long run it is not.

Prayer for the Faithful in their Agony
from 'With God' by Fr. F.X. Lasance

O most merciful Jesus, Lover of souls! I pray Thee, by the agony of Thy most sacred Heart, and by the sorrows of Thy immaculate Mother, cleanse in Thine own blood the sinners of the whole world who are now in their agony and about to die this day.

Heart of Jesus, once in agony, pity the dying.

Do your best! Avoid near occasions of sin! Hate what you desire, and forget it exists! A world without it existing, without that temptation existing, is a better world! And we can if we train our habits of thought forget it exists and reject it for the good!

Every day I learn more and more this is possible! And more and more how many little things are wastes of time and temptations! Time is precious! And when we happily think about time well spent, those memories we can dwell on forever without regret unlike the others!  littlewings

I've heard of that too that when the temptation assaults you,  recommend yourself immediately to your Guardian Angel.
