No one ought to consider himself a true servant of God who is not tried by many temptations and trials.'

'The Christian life does indeed mean battles and trials, but it also means consolations. And though I must leave Tabor and climb to Calvary, one day I will leave Calvary with Jesus and return to Tabor. A foretaste of Heaven awaits me there. My soul follows but one path: from Golgotha to Tabor. It leaves Golgotha to seek strength and courage at Tabor. Life is such a ladder.'

Do you mean, Shin, that you are comparing yourself to angels? Grin

You know I just learned that besides Mount Tabor, monstrance stands are called 'Tabor'.  I saw one that looked like it had two angels and then a base.

I always think of Adam being buried far below Golgotha.

Dreamer!

Is "monstrance"/"tabor" related to tabernacle? In Exodus God gives the description of angels, etc on it.

How come you always think of Adam buried below Golgotha?

It's just such a striking thought.. all the way below the earth.. 'Golgotha' the 'place of the skull'.. and then far above the crucifix..

Was it in Emmerich that Adam was described as buried there? I forget.

It reminds me of St. Peter being buried below the basilica.

Tabernacle.. yes.. there should be.. the transfiguration.. yes there's a good deal of depth there..

I remember St. Peter offering to make three tabernacles there..

Well, the tabernacle that the Jewish peoples travelled with on their journey in the desert [Exodus 26:1 - 27:19] is what I refer to - that which the pillar of the Shikina Glory Cloud followed.

I'll have to look at Emmerich and find out. What an interesting thought.
