'We cannot with all our heart forgive someone who does us wrong unless we possess real knowledge. For this knowledge shows us that we deserve all we experience.'

What I love about this quote is that it ties forgiveness to honesty or truth..

Just like humility is tied to it..

Truly, everything is tied to truth.. When we appreciate reality as it truly is, we know we should act differently because it all makes sense to do so. It is simple truth and honesty.

In other words, a great deal of all of our problems come from simply not appreciating what the spiritual reality, what the full reality of God's work is.

Why do we not appreciate it? Well we can fail to appreciate it out of ignorance (we do not study the saints), out of lack of Faith (we hear but we do not believe, we do truly appreciate and accept), there are a variety of reasons.

But these reasons reveal the simple cure.. that is.. appreciating that our worldview coming out of the world is fundamentally flawed.

That if we think like everybody else does, that itself is clear evidence we are fundamentally deceived.

If we love truth and honesty, and are willing to be different than the world and think differently, to be part of a different flock -- following Christ.. we will question everything and learn to change..

And when we appreciate the world as God has truly created it.. we will fit within its order tranquilly and at peace.  Cheesy

Me, too. Fundamentally and every other way.
