Psalm 98
of the Psalter of the Blessed Virgin Mary
by St. Bonaventure

The Lord hath reigned, let the people be angry:
Mary sits at the right hand under the Cherubim.

Great in Sion is thy glory, O Lady:
and in Jerusalem thy magnificence.

Sing before her, ye virginal choirs:
and adore her throne, for it is holy.

In her right hand is the fiery law:
and round about her are millions of saints.

Her commands are before his eyes:
and the rule of justice is in her heart.

O Jesu! born of Virgin bright,
Immortal glory be to thee;
Praise to the Father infinite,
and Holy Ghost eternally. Amen.

Jesus, tibi sit gloria,
Qui natus es de Virgine,
Cum Patre, et almo Spiritu,
In sempiterna saecula. Amen.

Jesus Christ a King of Glory has come in Peace.†
God became man,†
and the Word was made flesh.†
Christ was born of a Virgin.†
Christ suffered.†
Christ was crucified.†
Christ died.†
Christ rose from the dead.†
Christ ascended into Heaven.†
Christ conquers.†
Christ reigns.†
Christ orders.†
May Christ protect us from all storms and lightning†
Christ went through their midst in Peace,†
and the word was made flesh.†
Christ is with us with Mary.†
Flee you enemy spirits because the Lion of the Generation of Juda, the Root David, has won.†
Holy God!†
Holy Powerful God!†
Holy Immortal God!†
Have mercy on us.  Amen!

I really like this prayer, Martin, where did it come from?

It's a blessing against storms from the Pieta prayer book.

It was revealed to a holy person I think by St Anthony.

Maybe Shin will have more info.

Thank you both. I (maybe since I'm a convert into the 'modern' Church) didn't know the Pieta prayer book existed.

Not to worry Brigid.. There are many cradle catholics who don't know of the Pieta prayer book. It is a beautiful small book full of old prayers and devotions most of which have been revealed by Our Lady, the saints and even Our Lord Himself. If you google it you will find sites that have It for reading on line.
Steer clear of the first site at the top of the first page as theirs some bad ads there. The rest look ok.

When did I first find the Pieta prayer book? I think it was in an Adoration chapel.

Back when I was going through Confirmation and soon after I made it my business to try to find as many prayers with promises attached to them as I could, and say a good number of them or practice the devotions associated with them. Smiley

What a wonderful place to find it! Little Angel I'll have to get it to put into ours!
