I feel I'm stuck on the trouble end -- but not really, as He sends me daily consolation in my children...and you here.  It must somehow balance out and all be for good.

I think faithful Catholics are given an extra dose of trials to strengthen them spiritually and also as a ' corrective measure' (in Our Lord's words). But he also alternates them with consolations so we can renew our strength and not be discouraged.   I have seen non-Catholics spend an entire lifetime without any major trial of any sort, just a smooth life, no trials or tribulations.  Something to worry about , I think.
