The Holy Card is based on the statue in Quito, on Pichincha Mountain.

Reading from one source: 'Our Lady instructed Mother Mariana de Jeus Torres, in 1628 A.D., to have pictures made of the Christ Child Crucified, exactly as she saw him on Mount Pichincha, and to have these words printed on them: "I can do no more to show My love for you." Then the Blessed Mary told her these pictures would spread all over the world and would be the source of holy inspirations.

Mother Mariana went to the Bishop, the Most Rev. Pedro de Oviedo, Quito’s 10th Bishop, to ask the necessary permission to have the pictures made. He agreed, for Our Lady had enlightened his spirit to see the great good this devotion would do. Actually, the night before he had a dream in which he foresaw the devotion to the Crucified Child on Mount Pichincha. He noted: “I had the impression that these pictures would never be lost; on the contrary, they would be continuously reproduced and have the grace of winning hearts to love God” (The Admirable Life of Mother Mariana, vol. 2, pp. 159 -162).

When the pictures were made, the Bishop himself distributed them to all the religious of the Convent and to various priests and religious, convinced that it would merit him great public and private good during his government. In fact, everything happened as prophesized. With time variations of this devotion spread throughout Europe and the New World. They have been – and continue to be - the source of holy inspirations, just as Our Lady had promised.'

'Some of the words recorded of Our Lady were, "Lift up your eyes now and look at Pichinicha Mountain where you will see this Divine Infant Whom I carry in my arms crucified."

The Christ Child approached the Cross, placed the crown of thorns on His Head, extended His arms on the Cross and said: "I can do no more to show my love for you. Ungrateful souls repay the great love and attentions of My Heart with contempt, sacrileges and blasphemies."'

A Prayer to the Child Jesus of Pichincha

Dear Child Jesus of Pichincha, I humbly kneel before Thee, worn and disillusioned by the world and all its empty pleasures and promises.

I have left the warmth and joy of Thy house to eat husks with the swine. I beseech Thee to purify my heart and restore my innocence.

I humbly beseech Thy Loving and Gracious Heart to forgive, and even forget, my past and to grant me the grace to begin anew.

I beg not only for my restoration, but for that of the world, and above all, for that of our beloved Holy Catholic Church, which is so beleaguered and persecuted.

Through the infinite merits of Thy Holy Childhood, I feel confident that my prayer will be answered.

Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory be. . .

He seemed to be reminiscent to the Sto. Niño de la Pasion to me.

Oh.....a beautiful prayer and a beautiful devotion.
And an incredible statue crucifix

Have mercy on us, dear Child Jesus of Pichincha; pray for us immaculate Mother of God, your heart pierced as if by a lance by the suffering of your son for the salvation of us, who are so unworthy.
Amen.
