The problem appears (temporarily?) resolved.
The technical support agent was unable to give me the information about what script may've caused the site to overload its resource allocation, the problem is not continuing, and so tech support has closed the ticket.
I shut down a test script that I doubt was doing anything.
And if the problem happens again, we may see another temporary outage while we try to track the problem.
I'll be going over the site to make improvements over the next few days and checking out possibilities to try to forestall any possible future problems.
If they occur, we will weather them!
