I have family out in that area too, though it is quite aways. I remember once I had the privilege of going into a.. was it Benedictine? chapel with a huge relic collection. . .

It was like a tiny piece of Heaven on earth. There were so many relics of so many saints.. of Our Lord and Our Lady.. of the rarest kind..

If only I could recall where it was now!

I believe it's called Saint Anthony's chapel in Pittsburg. You can find it on the net.The book I had read was about the Cathedral of Learning, another magnificent building with a storied history in Pittsburg

The burning of incense.
When incense is burnt during worship at Mass, what is the symbolic significance of the smoke and the sweet scent?

The smoke of the incense going upwards symbolizes our prayers going toward heaven.  The scent? Not sure. Like the sweet scent of the incense our prayers are sweet to God?? Undecided

I too thought it was related to the prayers of the saints as in Rev. 8: 3-4. Undecided

Yes, you are right Patricia, George.
The smoke does  symbolize prayers on their way up to heaven.
The sweet scent on the other hand reminds us of the sweetness of God's mercy. crucifix

Right you are Patricia  thumbs up rejoice
His name was Malchus, and although it doesn't say so in the Bible, others more learned in Scripture give the opinion that he might have become a follower of Jesus after that incident.
Congrats!
