Now here's a new question. . .

Who is both a recognized saint and often considered the first Anti-Pope? Cheesy

Hint.. he's from the early days!

Would that be St Hippolytus the martyre?

BTW Shin, those explanations on the virtues are so helpful in understanding what each one achieves and especially how together one can make the other work to its proper end.

Congrats martin Smiley

It was more good timing odhiambo than genuine knowledge. My brother got a book on the early Church and the Popes. We were talking about it on Wed night and St Hippolytus (and St Martin I) were discussed.

That brings me to another quiz question (from the same book).

Can you' name the early saint whom tradition has it was one of the children who Our Lord took in His arms and blessed (in Mathews gospel)?

That is quite a difficult one and I would never have known either if I had not read it a few days ago.

The saint in question was recommended as bishop of Antioch by St Peter and St Paul. He was a disciple of St John the evangelist and shares his name with another great saint of Loyola.

That should be a good clue.  Grin

Ignatius

Well done Brigid.     St Ignatius of Antioch is correct.   Cheesy

Haha. I keep thinking 'Tarsus' but that's not right.

Then I think of 'Sardis'. But I think that's just floating out there.

The actual place I don't recall. 'Tyre'? No that can't be right.. see I truly can't get it. Cheesy
