Which of the vestments  the priest wears for Mass is symbolic of chastity?

Well, let me take a guess.

I think it's the cincture. My first thought was the alb, then I started thinking of the hmm. . what is it called.. without looking it up I am suffering a blank.. the maniple?

But I will go with the cincture. I may vaguely recall some vesting prayers correctly.

And then too, St. Philomena, St. Thomas Aquinas, and perhaps similar cords are if I recall correctly too, famous for chastity devotions.

This reminds me that I had a nice little book that described everything being prepared and had quite forgotten about it.

You are right Shin, it is the cincture. It is a symble of chastity and of restraint of physical desire.
I would not have known it without checking. I have just been reading about vestments in  my little book, the Faith Explained by Father Leo J . Trese. I never tire of praising this book, the best of the best for me.
Congratulations!

For this one you can 'peek'  Grin

“ Christianus mihi nomen est, catholicos vero cognomen” meaning “My name is Christian, my surname is Catholic.”
Now which Saint wrote those words?
If you say Christian Catholic I will accept  Grin

I don't know the answer. Embarrassed Sounds like something a martyr would say in answer to his persecutor's questions though . Am I right?

Is the cincture the rope or cord worn around the waist?  Undecided

You soon will know the answer. Note how Shin put it "I stumbled across the answer" Grin
Think Patricia, Shin found it, then I was sure you too would find it, how come I have that confidence? Why you?

What were the  main gifts from God that Adam and Eve lost as a direct result of their sin of disobedience?

Interesting this!
I wonder why I never came across this information before.
It is only now I am reading about a man with wings; a lion with wings;
An ox with wings and last but certainly not least, an eagle with wings!
What do they mean?
