Announcement: Daily Life Board now Private to Forum Members

The Daily Life subforum is now made a board viewable by members only. 

This means that the contents will not appear in search engines, and guests who visit the forum will not be able to view it. All new members will have instant access.

This means the forum can be a little more personal and less public, though it is as noted, still accessible by any new member.

Everyone should still be aware that in the end, these are public forums, and it is necessary to show restraint about personal talk, but I believe this change will be overall for the good and comfort of people who wish to be able to speak a little more freely about personal matters.

There's still room perhaps for further tweaks, and some thought being done about that -- feel free to make suggestions, however this should be the significant one.

This is a simple reminder, that most of these forums are public, and accessible to the search engines.

The Daily Life forum is open only to members, and not open to the search engines.

On the Internet, information we post is often recorded more or less, permanently. Even if the original website we post upon disappears, Internet archival programs in time, permanently record the information on every site accessible to the search engines on the Internet.

So the Daily Life forum is a little more reserved than the rest of the site. Only members may read it, only members may post. The search engines do not have access, the various Internet archival programs do not have access.

That said, while we have decent security, there are no absolute guarantees.

Private information should be kept private.
