There is now a new section of the Saint' Works website, the home website for the forums and various sermons.

It is entitled 'Modesty & Purity Resources'.

It is a small beginning, there are more resources to add to it as time goes by.

If any typos or other formatting errors are found, please note them.

And look forwards to future additions to this section of the website. I intend to expand the purity section (in a modest way) as time goes by rather than, at this point, having the focus being on modesty almost entirely, though of course a significant part of modesty relates directly. I would like to get some articles on basic moral responsibility in regards to others sins that we have, since the world denies this and it's filtering in, and so forth in future. Of course these things should be self-evident, but nevertheless, it is good to cover the basics at all times, especially for helping people articulate and promote what is written in the conscience and not be misled by common bad practice.  Cheesy

The water is very hot out there, but the gradualness of the temperature increase has deceived many! Be careful out there everyone!

Let us all do better and increase the virtue of modesty in our lives!

I read this from our Catechism and they make this look so easy....but I can attest to achieve this takes tons of God's Graces and discipline...and noone in their mid 20s likes the word discipline ;-)

2528 "Everyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart" (Mt 5:28).

2529 The ninth commandment warns against lust or carnal concupiscence.

2530 The struggle against carnal lust involves purifying the heart and practicing temperance.

2531 Purity of heart will enable us to see God: it enables us even now to see things according to God.

2532 Purification of the heart demands prayer, the practice of chastity, purity of intention and of vision.

2533 Purity of heart requires the modesty which is patience, decency, and discretion. Modesty protects the intimate center of the person.

Modesty is so important to purity of heart.. so important to everything.. It is so fundamental and key..

"Where Christ is.." "There modesty is found." says St. Gregory..

St. Paul seemed to be saying just the same thing, when I reread 1 Corinthians 11:1-16 last night. He seemed to be talking about more than just women wearing the veil to pray and prophecy. He seemed to be speaking also of the need that people's exterior wear have on our heart's devotion and worship. He also seemed to be pointing out that women need to do this even more than men - possibly due to men's extra propensity to let modesty of their own eyes go and we are, he said, responsible for leading others to sin.

Yes!

God help us!

'It is necessary to guard all your senses, particularly your eyes. They are the means by which all the fascination and charm of beauty and voluptuousness enter the heart. When fashion, as in our time, is towards provocation and exposes what formerly was even wrong to think about, caution and self restraint must be exercised. Whenever necessary, you must look without seeing and see without thinking about it.'

St. Padre Pio

'Supreme and just Judge of the living and the dead, Thou who seest and knowest all things, even those very secrets that pass in the interior of my heart, and which I would not have known to any creature upon earth, is it possible that I should dare to appear in Thy presence, after having been so unfaithful to Thee? Alas! I can not fly from Thee, because Thou art present everywhere: I cannot hide myself from Thy view, because Thou seest all things. Ah! has not my insolence been insupportable in having dared, in the presence of Thy exalted majesty, before whom the purest angels cover their faces, to do what I would not have done before the meanest and the last of men? O my God! have mercy on me: I detest, with my whole heart, all my sins for the love of Thee.'

'We must practice modesty, not only in our looks, but also in our whole deportment, and particularly in our dress, our walk, our conversation, and all similar actions.'
