That's quite thought provoking..

Yes, I found that quote to so true. There is no joy, no meaning, no peace without God. How to put this? After a dry spell, when the good rain comes, everything comes to life anew, and I appreciate God's gift of prayer to me even more.

Yes that is the truth.  Cheesy

'Repose on the naked cross, and make no other complaint than this infantine cry: "My Father, my Father, Thy will be done!" and then be silent. Continue to repose on the cross until the happy moment of your mystical death. This precious death is more desirable, than life. Then, as St. Paul said, your life will be hidden with Christ in God (Col. iii. 3), and you will find yourself in this profound solitude that you love, and entirely despoiled of every created thing. Now is the moment to suffer in silence and in peace; resign yourself to the agony you suffer, and it will conduct you to mystical death.'

Without friendship there can be hardly any happiness among humans; they may well be compared to animals if they have no one to rejoice with them in good fortune or sympathize with them in sorrow, no one to whom they can unburden themselves in time of trouble, or with whom they can share some especially uplifting or inspiring insight.

Do not let any occasion of gaining merit pass without taking care to draw some spiritual profit from it; as for example, from a sharp word which  someone may say to you; from an act of obedience imposed against your will; from an opportunity which may occur to humble yourself, or to practice charity, sweetness and patience. All of these occasions are gain for you, and you must seek to procure them; and at the close of that day, you should go to rest most cheerful and pleased.

'By the love and respect we owe to Jesus Christ our Lord, I beg of you to begin without delay to amend your lives with the greatest care, so that at the last day, when it will be necessary to give an exact account of them, you will be found worthy.'

If you truly want to help the soul of your neighbor, you should approach God first of all with your heart. Ask Him simply to fill you with charity, the greatest of all virtues; with it you can accomplish what you desire.

It is all in Gods hands.

Whoever is near us and needing us must be our neighbor, it does not matter whether he is related to us or not, whether he is morally worthy of our help or not. The love of Christ knows no limits. It never ends; it does not shrink from ugliness and filth.

A time is coming when men will go mad, and when they see someone who is not mad, they will attack him, saying, "You are Mad; You are not like us.

A timely quote.. thanks George...

'By wishing to do too much, we often spoil everything, constraining our Lord to leave us to act alone and withdraw from us in sorrow.'

Anxiety arises from an unregulated desire to be delivered from any pressing evil, or to obtain some hoped for good. Nevertheless, nothing tends so greatly to enhance the one or retard the other as over-eagerness and anxiety. Birds that are captured in nets and snares become inextricably entangled therein, because they flutter and struggle so much. Therefore, whensoever you urgently desire to be delivered from any evil, or to attain some good thing, strive above all else to keep a calm, restful spirit, steady your judgement and will, and then go quietly and easily after your object, taking all fitting means to attain thereto. By easily I do not mean carelessly, but without eagerness, disquietude or anxiety; otherwise, so far from bringing about what you wish, you will hinder it, and add more and more to your perplexities.

I think this quote can be a good reminder throughout one's life.

Good evening George!

I know, I was reading it last night after I signed off from here and thought about it all day today, so much wisdom in the saints.

Thankfulness for it!

I am early to bed tonight I think. Though how long I'll sleep I don't know.

God keep you George! And yours!

"We put our hope in the Lord
He is our protector and our help.
We are glad because of Him.
We trust in His holy Name.
May your constant love be with us, Lord.
as we put our hope in You."

Psalm 33: 20-22
