Television Entertainments and Movies- I need prayers to shun them all.

I used to love reading novels, watching movies on television as well as on large screens. I no longer read novels, gone off them with time;  As for movies on television, I stand accused. I am requesting for prayers to help me overcome this vice.
 The Lord is all we have.
 In Him we trust, In Him we hope!

I do not want to speak too soon but I have been a lot on the internet, preparing for the saints, etc. Late into the night at times so I leave no time for movies. When I am tempted to watch the telly, I put on Sky News usually and I like to watch their news untill I am dozing . So please keep remembering me in your prayers. It is reaching the right ears

I'm praying and I feel quite hopeful and confident.

There's nothing like reading and learning about the saints for improving one's spiritual life. The more we surround ourselves with the saints, the more we learn what it's like to live in Christian culture, the Christian life.

My own spiritual life has been improving lately as I work to become more temperate in everything I do. I still have far to go however! Moderation in all things..

Lent is such a splendid season for working on things like this. Everyone is working at it together so the spiritual benefits are all around.

Every day is a new day to begin again.

What do you make of this?
Yesterday, for the first time since I subscribed to Mutichoice, a multichannel digital satellite television oparator in this part, I noticed EWTN channel 
Was it a new addition? I have not asked, possibly.
Has it always been there and though I have eyes I could not see? Possible 
Anyway, there was daily Mass in progress when I tuned it. I joined of course . This was followed by the Rosary by a group of nuns. I joined them . Then came some discussions attended by some young seminarians. That is now when I stopped. So The Lord is helping me a lot in my resolve.

I watch EWTN too, but I'm cautious as there are some modernist programs I don't agree with.  I record some of the Catechism children shows , Bible story cartoons etc for my kids to watch and many of their programs are good.

I am glad to hear that Patricia. I will be cautious too and go only for programmes like  Bible discussions, Rosaries, Masses etc.
