Death of a teen
«
on:

Please pray for a student I counseled two years ago who was shot in a fight last year, was thought to be recuperating, but died last night in his sleep. It is assumed from the brain damage. He was 12 when I counseled him, 13 when he was shot, and 14 when he died last night.
Don't know what else to say. One of my students told me 2 hrs ago.

God Our Father,
Your power brings us to birth.
Your Providence guides our lives. By
Your command we return to dust.
Lord, those who die, still live in Your presence.
Their lives change but do not end.
I pray in hope for this child who died so young,
and for those dead known to You alone.
In company with Christ, who died and now lives,
may they rejoice in Your Kingdom,
where all our tears are wiped away.
Unite us again in one family, to sing
Your praise forever and ever.
Eternal rest grant unto him Oh Lord,
And let perpetual light shine upon him.
May he rest in peace.
Amen!

So sorry Bailey.
Will pray for him before I sleep tonight.

I'm sorry Bailey. Too young and such a sad end. I will pray for his soul. Lord have mercy!

Thank you all. But, I'm irrelevant. Only for his youthful soul, which I'm sure God has mercy on -- given ignorance of indoctrination to the poor way of life and gangs. And his family.
(I am better. Good sleep. A day off. How blessed that I can leave such a place. They can't or don't think they can.)

Lord, have mercy on his soul and the pain of his family at their loss.

Thank you for prayers for him and his family.
And, so you know the kids I work with grieve SEVERAL friends and family members who are also victims of "the war zone."
So in your prayers remember them all. Their stories are heartbreaking.
