Transition & Prayers Requested
«
on:
June 26, 2011, 08:34:42 PM »
Over the next week, God willing, it is planned that we will be moving
www.saintsquotes.net
,
www.saintsprayers.net
, and
www.saintsbooks.net
to a new service. A prime candidate for a provider has been found and reviewed and looks quite acceptable.
During the transition these three websites will experience brief outages. After the transition these sites will share the same provider, and have an upgrade in storage space and bandwidth.
This will primarily benefit
www.saintsbooks.net
as we will be able to directly host a larger number of files, and provide these books in larger amounts as website traffic increases.
I'd like to ask for prayers in regards to this new hosting service, the transition, and the future.
From the perspective of people using the websites, I might add, you should notice absolutely nothing different whatsoever before and after, except for the brief service interruption. And shortly after the week is over,
www.saintsbooks.net
should as time permits receive a major update to reflect its expanded capacity.

The transfer of
www.saintsbooks.net
is underway. There will be a temporary service interruption.
Please be patient and keep the sites in your prayers so that they can continue to provide the best services for everyone.

The new website transfer is almost complete to
www.saintsbooks.net
, however due to the process of a changeover from one service to the other and redelegation of the nameservers, there may be a temporary service interruption of up to 48 hours.
Though actually, the service interruption should be much shorter, it would be unusual to take quite that long in general.

And please do not forget to pray.
It may seem like a little thing, and technical things may seem a little dry to pray about, but if you think of the good sharing the saints does and how all these touch souls personally.. These websites and their providers and their technical sides and transfers do need prayers.. and thanksgiving. . .

So true Shin. There's more at stake than mere physical operations.
A little latin for extra protection.
Sancte Michael Archangele,
defende nos in proelio,
contra nequitiam
et insidias diaboli esto praesidium.
Imperet illi Deus,
supplices deprecamur:
tuque,
Princeps militiae caelestis,
Satanam aliosque spiritus malignos,
qui ad perditionem animarum
pervagantur in mundo,
divina virtute,
in infernum detrude. Amen.

A great prayer Martin.. Latin is very fitting especially at an important occasion like this.
I just noticed
www.saintsbooks.net
in its new location is propagating quite quickly, I can at least access it from this location already by its domain name, though others may not yet until it is updated over their portion of the Internet.
The site should be fully function again for everyone quite quickly at this pace.

I would like people if they can access
www.saintsbooks.net
currently over the next 48 hours to verify that it is propagated fully over the Internet. A simple reply here yes or no (not yet at least). If you can find the time.

Ah that's splendid to hear. It is not working for me, though it worked a bit ago for me. I expect it will again shortly as the Internet servers are updated hither and yon all across the Internet. Thank you Maria Margaret.

As
www.saintsbooks.net
appears to have successfully made its transfer, the transfer process for
www.saintsprayers.net
is now underway.
There is a potential service interruption of up to 48 hours during the transfer process, though it is likely to be much briefer.

The transfer of
www.saintsprayers.net
appears to have gone smoothly.
Now
www.saintsquotes.net
is being transferred over to its new service. A temporary service interruption may occur.
