and my strength not to worry too much; I tend to ruminate

Came back from a consult with a neurologist at the request of our pediatrician.
Neurologist wants a bunch of tests on my youngest son (hockey player): MRI with dye and EEG for symptoms (unrelated to hockey).
Quite frankly, he scared the heck out of me.  We have decided not to do any test until consulting back to our family physician next week and get a second opinion probably.  Until then things will be "normal"........ and I need the strength and composure to smile and pretend all is OK, for our son.  Our oldest doesn't know anything because there may not be any need to worry.  Husband thinks the entire thing is ridiculous.  But I'm a mom.........
thanks.

Oh, Bailey, I will definitely be keeping you, your son and your whole family in my prayers.
Sometimes it really does turn out to be nothing, but like you so eloquently put it, you're a
mom. . .   In times like these it can be very hard to abandon our selves to the love of God and trust in Him.  I pray you can find comfort with our Blessed Mother and wrap yourself in her loving mantle.
I will be Praying, cross prayer
Vicky

P.S. I had this (similar) with the dye and it umm...Gave me tummy troubles, just a heads up!

Well, I think I learned something at work today; when you are focused on the moment "out there,"  you don't worry "in here."  So since there is nothing I can do right now, it is best I put it out of my mind and if it pops in, say "nope, nope; not going there" and look "out there."   That quote I have often put on forums by Elizabeth Seton: "keep well to the grace of the moment, do your best, and leave the rest to God," is one my spiritual director gave me because I worry so much.  This is a good time to put it to practice, I think.  One can't worry if they are practicing paying attention to grace in the present moments!

I know you will all pray for me; no worries there; I pray for you all too.  So, we proceed......  Smiley

That's a wonderful quote - my trouble is that I forget to keep to the present moment except when my grandkids are over. They are preschool age and don't even think (it seems, anyway) about other things. When they're with me, although I get exhausted, it's so worth it to spend a whole weekend not worrying (then I start it up again as soon as they leave Roll Eyes).

Praying for your son's health and that you all trust in the Lord to make all of this right.  Whatever the outcome, God orders all things for our good...so may you all be abandoned to His will, which is love and mercy itself.  Amen.
