'"True happiness on earth consists in being forgotten and in remaining completely ignorant of created things."
St. Therese of Lisieux, The Story of a Soul
"He alone is unchangeable and that He alone can satisfy the multitude of my desires."
St. Therese of Lisieux, The Story of a Soul
"The closer we come to God, the more simple we become."
The Story of a Soul, one of the older Mothers of St. Therese of Lisieux.
The simple truths in her words never cease to inspire me, because they are always so true.
St. Therese, Ora Pro Nobis!

Splendid quotes!
That first one especially is a very helpful quote, thanks be to God for it, and for the messengers delivering it.
And the third one..

The first one I am enjoying thinking about how touches on holy modesty and humility.

True wisdom comes with true simplicity...I pray that I may be so simple and trusting. It is truly a challenge in our complicated world.

You've said it Maria Margaret - simple and trusting.

When she entered the convent in Lisieux, Therese took the religious name Sister Therese of the Child Jesus and the Holy Face.

Therese's father Louis had tried to become a cannon regular. He wanted to enter
the Great St. Bernard Hospice. He was refused because he knew no Latin.

Therese's mother was so successful in manufacturing lace that by 1870 Therese's father Louis
had sold his watchmaking shop to a nephew. Louis handled the traveling and bookkeeping end of his wife's lacemaking business.
