Russian Lawmakers Prepare to Restrict Abortion
(Lifesite News Excerpts)

The proposed legislation would ban free abortions at government-run clinics and require a prescription for the ‘morning-after’ pill. . .

The bill would also require a married woman seeking an abortion to have her husband’s permission, and teenage girls would need the consent of their parents.

In addition, the proposed legislation would require a one-week waiting period to allow a woman to reconsider her decision before having her child killed through abortion.

According to the 2010 census, Russia’s population has dropped from 145 million in 2002 to under 143 million, with the death rate continuing to exceed the birth rate despite government efforts to reverse the decline in population.

Now that their population is dropping they want to reduce abortion rates. Not for a moral reason.  How two- faced can one get!

It may be that the reality of abortion is starting to hit home in some of these countries where the death rate is now exceeding the birth rate. And they still talk of over population. Huh?

If they are blind to the spiritual consequences of abortion, they can't escape the natural consequences,

Talking of Russia, I heard that Putin is making a comeback. Wonder how that's going to affect world politics and the Catholic world?  Huh?

I fear not in a good way, all things considered. We need to pray for Russia.

He is Russian Orthodox, is he not? and there was a time in the past when he visited the Vatican.
Is there something that, as Catholics, we should be aware of about him?
