This is a very important quote!

I can think of in my own life how holy detached happiness is compared to attached pleasures, which are always tainted.

When we love people detachedly in God, it is so much different than an attached love! How much better it is, and how much happier we are reflecting on it!

A detached love doesn't have the worries an attached love has! It also does not have the pain when you are without it, because you accept the Lord's will in it, so you always look back happily on it.

I think what is interesting about this is that we can confuse God with our ideas about God.  And we can be attached to our ways of praying or put too much importance in how we worship, etc.  I think that is also attachment, to a seemingly good thing.  In the end, I think self-sacrificing love is all there is really.
