I man I used to do work for many years ago saw me in town today and called to me. I hardly recognized him but thankfully it suddenly dawned on me who he was. I remebered that when I last talked to him he was not practising his faith but he began to tell me about his daughter who is 15 yrs old and recently diagnosed with a rare form of Cancer. He told me it has turned his life around and that of his wife and he now prays the rosary every day and visits the Blesssed Sacrament daily, pleading with God to heal his daughter.

I was so moved by all that he told me and he all but begged for prayers. I told him that I know many good people who will pray for his daughter and would be in contact with them today. So dear family in Christ will you remember this intention. The girls name is Rachel. Thank you all so much.

Prayer to Saint Peregrine
Oh great Saint Peregrine, you who have been called "The Mighty" and "The Wonder-Worker" because of the numerous miracles which you have obtained from God for those who have had recourse to you.
 For so many years you bore in your own flesh this cancerous disease that destroys the very fiber of our being, and who had recourse to the source of all grace when the power of man could do no more.
 You were favored with the vision of Jesus coming down from His Cross to heal your affliction.
 Ask of God and Our Lady, the cure of Rachel whom we entrust to you.
Aided in this way by your powerful intercession, we shall sing to God, now and for all eternity, a song of gratitude for His great goodness and mercy.

It is through the Cross that we turn to God.  I will pray the Rosary for Rachel's cure and for her parents' perseverance in prayer and holiness.  Lord have mercy on the suffering!

I've had an update on Rachel's progress and the news is good.
The cancer is not as untreatable as was first diagnosed and apparently the doctors are scratching their heads.
We of course know why this is so. Thanks be to God. 

Thank you all for your prayers dear friends and a big thankyou from the parents of Rachel. The family are overwhelmed to know that prayers are being offered for their daughter by people they don't even know in other parts of the world. I'll keep you' informed as I learn more.
