I hope everyone is reflecting today on 'ashes to ashes, dust to dust'..

There's nothing like it for making us see how important God is in our lives, and how little important all else is.

We must do His will!

These bodies.. all our possessions.. the entire earth.. is going to be reduced to ashes.. all will go away..

And this should not make us sad, but happy..

Because God alone is our goodness.

God alone!  Cheesy

'Love speaks little. The language of divine love is a burning heart; no words can express its ardors; they make of the loving soul a victim of love, a holocaust, consumed and reduced to ashes in the divine fire of charity.'

St. Paul of the Cross

The ashes are made from blessed palm branches, taken from the previous year's Palm Sunday Mass.

On Ash Wednesday the Pope, the Bishop of Rome traditionally takes part in a penitential procession
from the Church of Saint Anselm to the Basilica of Santa Sabina.
