This is a quote from Mike.. a friend from a CAF social group..

'Well I could have put this in prayer requests...and if you want to continue to pray for me I certainly would not be opposed. However, I am just letting you all know about my doctor visit today. He couldn't hear my left lung at all (that is the one where I only have 1/2 lung), and so wanted me to get an X-Ray. I am waiting for the results. My hunch is that I'm probably down to using just one lung now.

Anyway, basically the Graft vs. Host Disease (rejection of my brother's DNA from the stem cell transplant from the AML Leukemia) has attacked my lungs. I have constant inflammation, and each time I get sick it worsens. At this point they could try putting me on immunosteroids again to help slow it down, but there's a good chance it would not work at all and I would also be at higher risk for infections which could kill me. The other option is to just do nothing and I will continue getting worse until my body succumbs.

So in a nutshell, I'm dying. But I'm still alive and as long as I am, I will continue using what breath God has blessed me with to praise and glorify Him.'

Please keep him in your prayers now..

Hail Our Lady and Our Holy Queen. . . Hail Queen of Angels and Saints.. Hail Help of Christians..

Pray for him..

Dear Lord Jesus,
While on earth,You went about healing all those who were sick and tormented by unclean spirits.
You cleansed the lepers, opened the eyes of the blind and by speaking a simple command,
You empowered the physically challenged to rise up and walk.
You sent forth your life-giving power to all those in need, including those you raised from the dead.
O Divine Physician, we come to you now in great need of your intervention for the cure of  Mike.
Look graciously on his suffering body and if it be in accordance with Your Holy Will,
restore him to health, for You Oh Lord, are our God.
In You we trust and in You we hope.
Amen!

crucifix Prayer for Fortitude  crucifix

Dear Jesus, lay Your Wounded Hand upon my weary head, and teach me to have courage in the paths that I must tread. Bless me, and those whom I love, and give us grace to see these crosses bravely borne by us will keep us close to thee. And if at times a shadow falls in unexpected ways, put Your gentle Hand in mine and guide me through the days. So bless my people, one and all, with Thy protecting grace, and impart to them Thy Wisdom ere they meet face to face. Amen.

Prayer of St. Bernardino of Siena.

"Jesus, Name full of glory, grace, love and strength! You are the refuge of those who repent, our banner of warfare in this life, the medicine of souls, the comfort of those who morn, the delight of those who believe, the light of those who preach the true faith, the wages of those who toil, the healing of the sick. To You our devotion aspires; by You our prayers are received; we delight in contemplating You. O Name of Jesus, You are the glory of all the saints for eternity. Amen."

St. Bernardino, patron of those who suffer from lung disorders,
pray for Mike. Amen.  cross prayer

May is the Month of
The Blessed Virgin Mary.
Let us put ourselves under her able protection.

Sub Tuum Praesidum
We fly to thy patronage, O holy Mother of God;
Despise not our petitions in our necessities, but deliver us always from all dangers,
O glorious and blessed Virgin.
Amen.

Today is also the Memorial of:
Saint Peregrine Laziosi
Monk and Mystic Patron saint
against cancer; against open sores; against skin diseases; AIDS patients and
sick people in general.

Let us pray to Saint Peregrine.

Oh great Saint Peregrine, you who have been called "The Mighty" and "The Wonder-Worker" because of the numerous miracles which you have obtained from God for those who have had recourse to you. For so many years you bore in your own flesh this cancerous disease that destroys the very fiber of our being, and who had recourse to the source of all grace when the power of man could do no more. You were favored with the vision of Jesus coming down from His Cross to heal your affliction. Ask of God and Our Lady, the cure of Mike whom we entrust to you.
Aided in this way by your powerful intercession, we shall sing to God, now and for all eternity, a song of gratitude for His great goodness and mercy.
Amen!
